| Celebrate MFG Day in Idaho with Made Here! 2019|
October 15 (VIP Event) & 16 (Expo/Job Fair) at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa
The Southwest Idaho Manufacturers’ Alliance (SWIMA) is hosting the 5th annual “Made Here!” Expo and Job Fair at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. There will be a VIP event the evening of October 15 featuring a keynote address by Brian Fretwell; a speaker, consultant and founder of Why We Win. Brian’s keynote will focus on “Building Momentum: What the successful industrial companies in the world are doing to get the most out of their people.” The fun continues with a Manufacturing Expo/Job Fair on Wednesday, October 16 from 9 am – 2 pm.
Made Here! is a free event that is open to manufacturing enthusiasts of all ages. The event is part of the National MFG Day that kicks off annually on the first Friday of October. MFG Day puts focus on the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders. The reality is that there is something for everyone in today’s manufacturing industry. In addition to careers on the plant floor, manufacturers need engineers, programmers, writers, graphic designers, HR professionals, business managers and more.
Idaho’s Made Here! event will feature some really cool products and the companies that make them right here in our state. You’ll see advanced 3D printers, drones, robots, consumer products, and mountains of food from some of Idaho’s best-known producers.
Nearly 1,000 students of all ages (with teachers & parents) attended the 2018 event and we expect at least that many in 2019. You can register your student group here and even apply for a bus scholarship to help defray the cost of getting students to the event.
