TechHelp was thrilled to have Steve Yano join the New Product Development Team at Boise State in January of 2020. Steve has a proven track record in all facets of new product development in a wide range of technologies, market applications, and corporate settings.
Leading engineering and cross-functional teams to develop and deliver winning new products to the marketplace has been Steve’s career passion. His path has included leadership positions with technology companies Micron Technology, Zetec, Advanced Digital Systems, and Rocket Research Company. He has also served in management roles with two startup companies.
As a principal engineer, he helped design an electric thruster in partnership with NASA that was the first of its kind to fly in space on board a communications satellite. From there, he further honed his skills in design and development of nondestructive test equipment and electro-mechanical systems as a mechanical engineer, product development lead, and engineering director. Upon completing his MBA Steve went on to lead an early stage company as its CEO, building strategic partnerships with government, university, and commercial entities to enable product development and launch strategies.
Now, as a member of TechHelp’s New Product Development (NPD) team, Steve relies on his extensive industry experience to support Idaho manufacturers in navigating all facets of the product development cycle, including design for excellence, market feasibility, business planning, and risk management.
