TechHelp respects the privacy of everyone we work with and all visitors to our Web site. TechHelp strongly believes that our users must be assured that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, TechHelp has implemented the following policy.
What Information Does TechHelp Collect?
TechHelp is a partnership of Idaho’s three state universities and is Idaho’s affiliate of the national NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership or MEP. You or your data may come into contact with us through any of these organizations or via our staff who work for these organizations.
Data collected by TechHelp is used only to help us better serve you. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that you knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by e-mail or a special announcement placed on the Web site.
In some cases, we have arrangements with third-parties, such as authorized Service Providers to collect and store the foregoing information on our behalf to facilitate reporting of analytics (such as with Google Analytics).
Although the Device Identifiable Information that we share, including the Device Identifiable Information that is not linked to your mobile device, does not identify you personally there is a risk that third parties who receive such information from us may be able to re-identify you through other information they gather.
Data Collected From TechHelp Clients, Conference or Event Registrants, and Others.
To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on the TechHelp Web site, members and other Users are asked to register and provide some limited information. These data are submitted voluntarily. TechHelp asks Users to provide their name, organization name, business phone, city, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to TechHelp through membership applications, conference or seminar registration, publication orders, downloads, and webinar registration.
How Does TechHelp Use Data We Collect?
TechHelp uses information voluntarily submitted by website user and members in the following ways:
TechHelp Clients: We use data collected to improve Web content, including deciding which events to feature on the home page, determine blog post and webinar topics; to respond to visitors’ interests, needs, and preferences; and to develop new events or discussion topics for downloadable materials.
What Privacy Issues Arise With Links To Other Sites?
Our Website contains links to other websites. TechHelp has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.
What about information from children?
TechHelp does not intend to collect information from children. TechHelp is committed to the safety of children and we do not intend to collect personally identifiable information from children under age 18. If a User is under age 18, the User should ask his or her parent for permission before sending any information to our site or anyone else online. The User’s parent should contact us directly in order to provide us with prior written consent. TechHelp will not intentionally use personal information from or send communications to children under age 13 without prior parental consent.
